The All

Before you, was I
long before who and why
Beyond what is seen
I have always been

Before love and pleasure
and everything that men treasure
Before endless sins
of the human nature

Before pain and sorrow
yesterday and tomorrow
from endings to beginnings
and all that is between

Before and after
in tears and laughter
call my name
I will always answer.

What a fine piece of writing, Jones. I love the flow, the imagery, and the sentiment that comes through loudly and clearly. Thanks for sharing this with us.
