The Abyss
Standing on the edge,
near the black abyss
(how far have we made it?)
black is the night that cloaks us,
and midnight chimes
and we get closer for this is the end, we can feel it.
(for in the end, won't we just FALL again)
and the light flickers
through the darkness
to leave us fully in the dark
(and we close our eyes for we have lost)
drowning
hands reaching only to find it's empty
and we come to find that we are alone
(we fade and fade into the ashes of ourselves)
