THE LAMPSHADE
Poignant pungent pain sustained,
continuing for years,
followed ! I had to swallow
as I feel saudade
looking at the EXPENSIVE LAMPSHADE
only to shed
my irresistible tears,
tearing my heart, moping memories, to clear.
Lampshade ! A gift on your part
once won my heart, but as you depart,
it stands to taunt as defeat to flaunt
in suffocated air on dreary despair .
My ordinary lamp
once was fixed in more ordinary clamp.
The lovely lampshade appeared for adornment
but later to irritate turning me outrageous.
My malleable mind mutilated, mangled humiliated.
Dreamy desires scattered.
Ebullient ego shattered.
I made bevue relying on you
to roll and ripple in rue.
My serene sanctum is splintered getting BRUISES to shed
blood drop by drop.
My livid contempt deliberately dropped
the lampshade
to break in pieces to rescind
beguilement.
At last retrieving peace of mind.
