Rock Stars who died at age 27 and the eerie coincidence that gave rise to some

Jimi Hendrix-Played electric guitar with his teeth and left hand Ripped through scales, held notes, used flames on stage on command Janis Joplin- Rolling Stone—Her cover enthralling ”Me And Bobby Magee” Mezzo-soprano vocals and an "electric" stage presence that’ll ever be Mama Cass- Of "The Mamas And Papas" Singer Alto—perfect pitch “California Dreamin” rumor she choked on a ham sandwich Mama Cass was in the club too but kicked her out because she was 32! Jim Morrison- “L.A. Woman” His presence quite a sight to see The Doors, his band, Jim’s buried in a famous Paris cemetery Amy Winehouse- Jazz singer—her deep, expressive contralto vocals New York bluesy new Motown sound, knew she’d die young say the articles Kurt Cobain-Modern day Rock Icon died lead singer & guitarist of Nirvana, by suicide Although rumor has it was Courtney Love Kurt’s death meant he joined the fabled 27 club A few of “The 27 Club” Rock Stars that rocked me! A dormant sadness erupts in me when their songs are played Rock Stars are noted for their high-risk lifestyles Admissions free—no cover charge!

Music as a whole has shaped me. Kurt Cobain in particular though not listed by you definitely part of the crew! However all on your list are definitely within my playlist Hendrix in particular. Very cool and a very sweet and genuine side of you! Salutations A.S

Love his, Anaya. I am a fan of everyone you wrote about in the 27 club. The Mama Cass saga... I heard she choked on her vomit in her sleep.. amazing how the stories change with rumors. Thank you also for commenting on my POTD. Since you came aboard a year ago you have been such a joy to get to know. Love ya! Keep up the awesome writing! Charlie

Andrea: my comment can't go through. DANG it. Also, it is happening with a few other poets too. WHAT is going on? Anyway, here's my comment to 27 club of yours: I really want to write for this contest but don't know if I will have the time to research for it. I heard Mama Cass choked on Chicken bone. Hmmm. weird how stories change. Good job on this one.

Excellent Anaya. Your info on each artist was wonderful to read. So sad she choked on a Ham sandwhich. I know she was overweight and I always thought it wasn't true but a cruel joke. The lifestyle they were living sometimes contributes to their demise, also the influence around them. Suicide and depression is also a sad realization. I can't imagine why? When they make so much money but I guess money isn't everything. Anaya this was a wonderful achievement from you in writing. I am sure it will

Thank you for sharing I am sure many think she really choked on a ham sandwich I heard this story about Ellen all my life and my wife also shard that with me. Not glad she died but glad to know the real facts. Thank you, I will share it with my wife...

All so sad indeed Michael, thank you for your visit, always good to hear from you. The beautiful Ellen Naomi Cohen "Mama Cass" of The Mamas and Papas, died of a heart attack in her sleep, I was selfish and thought everyone knew this. It will always be, unfortunately. It's "Rock-n-Roll!"

Thanks Jeff, a little tike eh! I made it to the Cal Jam's ll--(The Who, Ted Nugent, George Thorogood...) I did see Nirvana (Kurt Cobain) in Del Mar, CA. they opened for The Red Hot Chili-Peppers and Pearl Jam!!!
