That Was Really Cold, Man
THAT’S REALLY COLD, MAN!
There really is a woman who grants me utter peace
And makes me believe that we will finally get relief
It’s the same old story about youthful love crossing a sea
But when my arms wrap round her and hers round me oh I ramble free
First she hugs me slightly lightly for to reserve a gentle touch
And then swears to God that she loves me and how very much
This was no fantasy short lived nor overstated in any way
And her thoughts were always inside my head before she had anything to say
Devotion became lame yet ecstasy remained ecstasy
She’d hover above a lover who made wonder come to be
I’d hold her right and enfold her tight
And then wouldst begin quite a night
‘twas quite a sight to see they say
A festive of fervency and fidelity forsworn
But it was a moral imperative that he slip away
For that was the day an adulteress and his baby was born
