That Very Thought

In the darkness of night, creeps in that very thought
In the silence of space and time, it hovers over my mind
Cuz when there is no other attraction, there is no scope of distraction
It is sure of being attended to
It is sure of being of utmost importance
It finds its way

Hardly is it aware that it is an unwelcome guest
It simply takes away all peace and leaves behind unrest
But then I realize, it's its own zone
Where it comes banging in
Without any prior appointment
And brings me to the verge of moan

Only if, I could be determined enough
To show it the door
So that it couldn't just trespass
And torture me any more
That strength of the inner self
Which makes one endure
Those mystics who know the techniques
One day, I would learn from them for sure.
