That Tree

My new friend was honest, informal and direct About nature all around, her words I now reflect… ‘I don’t understand the artist for that tree is just a tree Though an artist would describe it very differently- Something different, something else and something else than me Though I’m not an artist so the tree is just a tree.’ Took a breathe to digest what she had to say Never would I dispute a simple kind of way, For the truth is clear to some, so need of no correction Hence I simplified ‘ the tree is one's perception’. Then I saw even more the trees that I had viewed Uplifted in my spirit, suddenly renewed, Patterns on the bark I fell with deep insight With the tree designs I somehow did unite… All as one, me with all, life and how it ties Directly to my maker who made my seeing eyes To adore evermore where nature all is mine How we’re blessed to be with God when we do combine… Senses overwhelming all along embraced To see a tree as more ...may depend on taste… Breathing in our evergreen yes a tree has smell Hearing tree leaves rustling and cracks from branches fell Touching bark rough or smooth is different every species From the trees I have seen I may write a thesis. The silver on eucalypts glistens to my eye Seen the trees full of life reaching to the sky. How Wonderful the trees and their natural attributes Always wondered much about their systematic roots. All the times I had climbed whilst clinging on their limbs Sitting in a tree imagination brings… Greatly more to the core with life there is a reason With colours and the patterns, the changes every season, from experiences with the trees all stages in my being From analysing only one, from mountains overseeing. I do adore all the trees with much appreciation Respect them and connect them, all consideration For time has bowed when nature wowed, rising for the birth From the mother and father seeding all the Earth.
