Your title caught my attention, and the poem rewarded my curiosity. Very nice, Jan! That Monet moment is also the poet's palette! ;-)

Being an artist, I noticed the way your third line blended with the other lines as a painter would blend jeweled toned oils. In your first two lines, my imagination envisioned the warmth of the setting sun toasting those marshmallow clouds. At dusk, the sun really does paint the clouds in an aura of colors. Well written, Jan.

wonderful poem Jan. I could picture the canvas as the painter lifts his brush, and starts painting his masterpiece. He looks off to his left and sitting is his beautiful wife. and in that canvas starts the outline of her, his masterpiece. Thanks for sharing this

Monet is by far my favorite painter/artist. I could and have stood before his paintings and stare for what seems hours. His brushstrokes, the way little dabs of paint created such amazing scenes just floors me. To have that talent...wow, I wish. Really nicely done Jan. You have captured his spirit wonderfully in this Haiku.
