THAT HOLIDAY ROMANCE

(Sand Promises)
That holiday romance I still recall.
I close my eyes and remember it all.
And though so many years have passed since then,
Still, in my dreams, I relive it again.
We initialled a love heart in the sand
And built a sand castle so tall and grand.
We decided we’d live in it one day,
Then watched as the waves washed our dreams away
We exchanged addresses before we left.
But it fizzled out and left me bereft.
Although we had promised to stay in touch,
The distance between us had proved too much
I still recall how we walked hand-in-hand,
And those promises made, there in the sand
