That Breath

There is a power which drives us all, and
Our consciousness is a breath which
Has been pushed into us
Like we press on buttons to switch on
In-animated machines!

Yet, it has chosen to remain subtle
And elusive, as so powerful it is
That should we set our eyes upon it
We would care not to suffer in this world
For actions we have committed once,
In a life which we remember not!

A power which has bid us be
For reasons known to itself
A power which loves us nevertheless
For it has seen into our potential
In making of our world, one worthy of
Our capabilities!

A power which none can describe
Though many do philosophize about
A power similar to light
A power to which we shall return
A power unto which we submit
A power so like a fire, attracting us,
Mere little moths flying aimlessly!
