Thanksgiving ---Sad

Since February
When doctors removed his legs
He has not been home.
Coming home for Thanksgiving
Phone rings-- "Stan died in his sleep".

Joyce, I was very curious if this was a person in your life. As I read it, it seemed like something very personal and real. Is it fictional? or was it a family member? Sad one. Congrats in my contest.

If it is for the contest, you wrongly named form as senryu instead of Tanka.
