Thanks For Your Service

They gave their all, who stormed the beaches Considering the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge, Through steaming jungles farthest reaches The Taliban showing no mercy, like savages. Our military, that’s how far freedom’s reach is Gladly giving all, what their country demanded, They stood for our homeland in the breaches, Wherever personnel carriers docked or landed. Battle of the Bulge to Iwo Jima, to Kabul, I say Our Army and Marines have done their best Fighting for freedom against tyranny’s sway Planted our flag at the Rough Rider’s behest. It means a lot to say “Thanks for your service” The tagline we use when we pay back in kind For those men in uniform who gladly serve us Talking about our country, keep them in mind.

I always say "thanks for your service" because my daughter enlisted in the Air Force during the Gulf War!

She was a brave gal. And she did something that will always make her, you, and all who know her proud.

Fine words Milton and a fine tribute; we treat our military terribly over here in the UK

Oh, wow, I'm sorry to hear that, Terry. They are pretty good allies!

Wonderful tribute Milton. So much gratitude should always be given to the men and women who bravely sacrificed everything to serve. They are all my heroes. I remember driving down to Rochester on the thruway, when I spotted a soldier on the side of the road with car trouble. I immediately pulled over and asked him what was wrong with his car. He said he did not know. I helped him get his car going and he thanked me and I told him I was the one that was thankful, for his service. We don't do

Fine words, Milt. Sometime ‘Thanks’ doesn’t seem sufficient, but it’s often all we have to offer. Governments on the other hand…

Thank you, Terry. As a former serviceman, I always appreciate those words, however.

Great tribute to the brave servicemen and women who keep us safe. What a hostile world it would be without them. Tom
