Thankful
The emerald water joins the azure sky
When eyes melt the distance between the two
And it's in this mixture I ask the why
Before life ends duly consumed and through
There's a need to measure our human cause
As I question my reason for being
The life in these two worlds give my mind pause
And I'll seek introspection for seeing
To Earth and Heaven that I separate
I will give thanks with purest adulation
To be part of the whole I'll celebrate
And know I've been part of their narration
Life will end my body forever gone
Its faded footprints now claimed by the dawn
