Thankful

The emerald water joins the azure sky When eyes melt the distance between the two And it's in this mixture I ask the why Before life ends duly consumed and through There's a need to measure our human cause As I question my reason for being The life in these two worlds give my mind pause And I'll seek introspection for seeing To Earth and Heaven that I separate I will give thanks with purest adulation To be part of the whole I'll celebrate And know I've been part of their narration Life will end my body forever gone Its faded footprints now claimed by the dawn 1/23/17

I really enjoyed this Frederic. I think many of us ask this or these questions often, what is my purpose, why am I here? Hopefully someday it will be clear. Nicely done.

Frederic, in your opinion, why do we care why we are here? Do you think, it's our vanity? When the day comes for looking back, what will we be looking for. Do you think, we'll try to forecast our judgement or is it just the brain on rewind? I guess we'll find out, huh? I love this thought provoking sonnet. Very well written:)

why do we care why we are here, for the same reason we wanted to know what was on the other side of a mountain.as for looking back, it's to see the roads we traveled to cross the mountain and reflect on the path taken..and yes one day we will find out..or we won't

I find, for some reason, the second line to be quite profound Frederick, well done and thank you...
