Thank You For Hearing Me

Sometimes, alone I leave this place, My eyes, I travel the darkness. Time in fluorescence burst about me, Forward and on, I surge forcefully through. When asleep I slowly awake And find myself a long way from here. Softly, my feet are placed again on land, To tread where once they roamed free. Greeted I am by old friends and kin, Together we feast and then I walk to her. Beneath the blanket she sews we lie, Together we are warm and giving once again. If this be some form of evil trickery, That takes me there or pulls me away. I feel useless to resist her power, Useless yes, but also I find unwilling. Some say, she was guided by my light, The light that shined as a child. That light has dimmed now I am a man, Yet she is still there in shadows, waiting.
