Tethered To a Moment
Here I am walking barefooted
beside the silvery sea~
The setting sun left a pastel pink hue
on silent summer sky,
filling my empty heart with warm aglow
as twilight birds begin to sing
our old favourite song.
I was here some years ago~
But not alone…
The laughters still echo
in the rushing white waves,
in the warm wind whispering
softly caressing my hair;
His deep eyes still painted in the clouds
that descend gently to kiss me;
The traces of our footprints adorning the satin sand
still vivid in my eyes like yesterday.
I sigh as the tepid water touches my frigid feet
Yes, I can only sigh~
For when will my love return
I’ll keep on waiting
Till the sun fades away,
Till the moon forgets the evening sky;
For this moment of waiting~ I know
will never, never be in vain.
