Tethered To a Memory
Love reveals a hidden beauty
invisible to the naked eye
and buffs it up
until it shines; for all to see!
The goal of the human heart
is not the pursuit of happiness itself,
but to find a soulmate
and let love lead them both to happiness.
Freeing fledgling feelings
dreams oft fuel fantasies
that harbor hope,
when love seems lost.
For both passion and desire
linger within a broken heart,
like the scent of a faded rose
tethered to a memory.
And hugs, caresses, and kisses
maintain their magical effect,
conjuring up a smile
that makes reality disappear;
at least for a little while.
And yet, blind love guides fate
as you chase
that elusive better tomorrow.
And today slips unnoticed
into the memories of yesterday,
like an unfulfilled wish
forever lost to time.
