Testing Positive For Cupid-20
Will it be a fling?
This ‘social distancing’
Or is it here to stay
Like that hasty marriage
Where both partners pay
And before locking down
The whole town
It didn’t occur to you
Even once
How’ll those love birds
Ignite their romance?
But the Agony Aunts
Please don’t commiserate
These in-love fellas
Will still have their date
Do you really think
'Self-isolation' will do the trick
Cure these love-sick
You’re wrong
They’ve always been doing
Nothing else, but day dreaming
Planning secret meetings
Dodging prying eyes
Inventing all those lies
Poor thing
Now he has tested positive
Not for COVID-19
You stupid
But CUPID-20
You knew
He was vulnerable
But smart that he is
He’ll ensure
It’s not uncomfortable
And before you forcibly
Take him away
Just listen to
What he has to say
“Chill mate
I’m ready to co-operate
But with a condition
The world I’ll shun
But lock me up
With her
Let my Valentine
Be my quarantine.”
