Terse Verse

If you insist
on doggerel verse,
show mercy then
and keep it terse.

by the way, you should make this into a couplet and put it in to the rhyme battle, if it is still going on.

Thanks, Andrea. I entered another couplet into the contest: "The Altar of Hope and Despair." We'll see how it goes.

finally seeing that you had written a message to me under my comment on this one. I don't ever see those kinds of messages, but anyway, I had happened to come here and saw it. yes, I too have taken upwards of a few hours working on just one couplet for a sonnet!!!

People think it's strange, but I have perspired when writing a single line.

Andrea, this is certainly not faint praise and is very deeply appreciated. The poem didn't come in a heartbeat. It's amazing how hard one toils over every single word in short poems. Thanks again. Always nice to see your name up there in lights.

lol @ "ghetto". Check my neighborhood in my latest, "Life be good" in my first attempt at British slang. Be warned, though. Kind of on the shady side but hey, we tell it like it is. Why crimp (terse lol) your own style when it's so appealing? :-)

I appreciate your visit, as always, and enjoyed your remarks, likewise. Always good to have you here from the ghetto. I'll try harder in the next contest. Some people, yourself included, are such good poets. How do I emulate and still project my own style? Well, that's why we keep at it I guess.
