terrified, the frightened girl tried to hide in a locker
she could hear the gunman firing as his boots walked the halls
school had never felt this scary

Media needs to stop making them into big stories too; just say "a coward walked into a school". In New Zeeland the press did not give one gunman any name or anything, and it was the only school shooting the ever had.
