Terrific Birthday Bouquet
They sent their mother the perkiest birthday bouquet
It was okay now that they did not visit every day.
One lived two blocks, the other a whole mile away.
One could barely stay. The other was dour and gray.
As her nurse, I was sad they did not come by Tuesday.
Or answer their messages which they did not bother to play.
For that is the day their mother passed away.
