Tenure

I am sneaking in a bit of me time again.
Maniacal laughter here
In actuality, I sneak in a bit of work in between my me-times.
Luckily, they do not know
As no one keeps an eye on me anymore.
They are afraid of what they might see
And I have tenure.
No matter how insane I get,
This protects me.
It is my mantra and I despise it.
The good teachers do not need it,
And the bad ones depend on it.
It is also my curse.
And my friend.

Me time is important. You've got to keep those batteries charged.

My husband will roll his eyes when he reads this; he knows I am all about "me" time, on a daily, and often hourly basis.
