Temptation Site

Temptation Site Into the Wilderness 40 days, 40 nights Ahungered, weak The temptation site He heard a voice Look there, a stone Command it bread Your belly groans Get thou behind me Satan Your tempt I have heard Not by bread alone But by God's every word So the word of God Jesus already knows This time maybe try To twist how it goes Behold this high point To God's angels call Afterall, God did say He wouldn't let you fall No Devil, it is written The Lord thou shall not tempt Get thou behind me Satan You fail your second attempt Hmmph, lets try this again To a time and place we'll go Great wealth, riches, goods No one could possibly say no On your knees Jesus Just one time worship me All that is in this world It is mine, I'll give it all to thee Get thou behind me Satan God alone, him alone do I serve Your sentence sealed Your punishment reserved It is only to God To God I bow my knee Third strike, your out Satan, get thee behind me And after this Did the devil flee Christ our Lord Beginning his ministry My hopes you've enjoyed The view in which I write Of Christ our Lord In the Temptation Site

Hi Becky, welcome to PS and hope you're enjoying it here. This is a really good piece, telling well the spiritual battles believers face with Satan but knowing Jesus gives us the victory. Blessings, Gordon

Thank You Gordon, I am not exactly all up on the different forms of poetry but do enjoy writing, many times from a Christian perspective. Your comment is appreciated greatly.
