Tell Them

Tell Them… She had faded slowly shadow growing shorter voice less boisterous. Tell Them... Alone now she sits slumped on a park bench near the flowers. He found her there, sat next to her took her hand, read the note it held. Her brief farewell: “If anyone asks tell them I caught a butterfly.” 8/12/2017 submitted to – The Poet’s Shadow – Poetry Contest

John - This is poetic perfection, in my opinion, and it was SO hard to decide these top three especially, in a contest rife with talented writes ... the economy of words and what you say with them is extraordinary, and to pack so much impact into so few lines - sublime! Congrats on SECOND PLACE!!
