chemistry confounds me how can it be that one person can be seen by others so very differently What makes the difference? One sees sinner the other sees saint how can this be it's a mystery to me I see someone whom I love being reviled and someone who is vile being glorified why is there chemistry with some While others show only apathy I don't understand you see, how can people look at me so differently one sees a flower another a thorn one sees a gem another a stone one sees a little girl another a seductress one sees a hurting heart another a vengeful villainess explain this enigma to me I'm still just ME what makes the difference? Oh...now I see the eyes see the same image but the heart is the interpreter and those who see the beauty and those who see the beast are merely seeing what is peering out at them from the very depths of their own hearts. Dear poetess, I agree with Richard if people cannot see the beauty of your heart and soul, how could they possibly see the abundant beauty in the world around them. Closed minds can never feel the true joy of self expression through poetry. love Shane xxx

Thank you, Shane, for this wonderful comment. You are always good and kind. I so appreciate it. There is always a risk involved in self expression. I guess one must be strong enough to take criticism as well as praise. Bless you.

Hello, my dear Dr. Upma. So sweet of you to visit. Yes, in all matters, we can blame the poor heart. Hugs to you.

Awesome thoughts here. Really like this composition! "why is there chemistry with some While others show only apathy I don't understand" Those are painful lines... I don't understand it either... it's all a matter of perspective I suppose. "I'm still just ME what makes the difference?" Your words are so strong and brave. Truly a powerful poem! Love it! Always, Laura

Thanks, Laura, for your lovely visits to my poems....old and new. It's very kind of you to take the time. Sometimes two people will just click. A third person who clicks with one, will not click with the other....it always baffles me. Anyway...I guess at some point I have to make my peace with the fact that not everyone will like me. That's a fact of life. Thanks for the visit. Hugs.

If they cannot see the wonder of you, I feel for them because they are obviously blind! Did you mean "hat that lies hidden"?

You have captured so much philosophy and wisdom into a few lines. It flows great and makes sense in this shallow world were everything is judged at face value. Emile.

Thank you so much, Emile, for your lovely post. You are so right. Often, when we get to know someone better, we realize that we have misjudged him/her. Unfortunately, sometimes those first impressions never leave us....

I often wonder, how someone can see another as beauty and good, and someone else just see evil. It has always confounded me.
