Tell Him So
As night turns black,
you take him back;
there is no light,
no wrong, no right.
He breaks your heart,
and the tears start;
like drops of pain
they fall like rain.
The stars still shine
but you're not fine;
love lost its spark
when hope went dark.
Yet, he'll still try
to sell the lie;
he's not deadwood,
and all is good.
But a fake smile
betrays his style.
You should be mad,
why are you sad?
You're not to blame;
don't play his game.
Take back his key
and let him see
if he's untrue;
he's not for you.
Have a good cry;
let that dream die.
If love feels wrong,
you must be strong
and tell him so;
then let him go.
