Tears of a Clown

I’m good… I’m good at building walls, At pushing people out, You can’t disappoint when no one’s around. I’m good… At telling lies, when you see me cry I’ll convince you otherwise. I’m good... At picking a new smile if needed, At being happy on cue, At ignoring if mistreated. I’m good... At bubbling everything inside, At licking my wounds in private, I’m good at not being well.

Well expressed phase of growing for women, Khadidja. It is so liberating when we finally learn to own our strength and set boundaries for others to respect.

Excellent poem. You nailed it. An aside, my hubby actually was a clown, and does he have his ups and downs. I look forward to sharing this with him :)

what are we doing? for what are we praying? using the words we both want to hear. what eyes see these men. the clown speaks to his audience. they laugh, at the tears that he sheds. from these mens words, what speaks of the tears. than does the clown seek love. that he works his skit, to be paid to have you laugh!
