Notes About The Poem
Over the past few years especially, generalized statements
have been made by many people, blaming ALL U.S.
police for acts of brutality. Many people called for police
departments to be defunded. This defies logic and
reasoning. The unjustified war on our police needs to stop.
Tears For Our Blue
Ambushed U.S. police struck by gunfire
Brothers, sisters of the badge bloodied
Chicago lost by suicide souls of blue
Don't defund the good fighting the wars
Entered homes, alleys, bullets blazed, eternity
Families faithfully keep remembrance flames lit
