Tears

Let the tears fall where they may.
Obvious emotions are clear
Where there was once closeness, there’s distance
Such a distance even though you’re lying right here next to me

Let the tears fall where they may.
I have become invisible in my own space
As if my physical presence is no longer desired by you
You no longer look…at ME

Let the tears fall where they may.
Hard to regain the trust that was broken
Lies fed lies and I pretended to believe
My heart too broken to speak its own truth

Let the tears fall where they may.
No time spent together alone, just talking
No time just to call and say ‘hi’ anymore
No time…at least not for me

Let the tears fall where they may.
Such delight taken in your projects
Such enthusiasm in your friends and casual visits
I am excluded from your actual life

Let the tears fall where they may.
I don’t compare myself to others
Yet I’m reminded that you do…compare me to others
Yet, like you, I can only be myself

Let the tears fall where they may.
Acceptance of changes and circumstances outside my control
Sometimes denial to myself that my eyes see what they see
Sometimes denial that my heart knows what it knows

Let the tears..
Fall

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

I can feel the pain here so much...I have felt this very same way in the past. "lies fed lies and I pretended to believe"...well penned.
