An English teacher named Rosie Thought one of her pupils was dozy He’d cribbed off the web From a man in Zagreb The language he’d used was too prosy! In false glory he’d tried to bask So Rosie she took him to task She said it’s not neat if you try and cheat - when needing some help you should ask! NB cheaters is an anagram of teachers! Sadly this is based (with some poetic licence about Zagreb) on a true event in the school I worked at. The english teacher was fully aware of the capabilities of the student and it was blatantly obvious the work was not his and it was merely copied and printed off the internet ... he failed to get a mark 2/2/18

Ha, ha. simply substitute me--"Gershie"--for Rosie and 'he' for 'she' and someplace in India for Zagreb---and you could have written this about me 'edumacating' international students from Hyperbad, India. Thanks for sharing this realistic limerick.

I think many who teach or who have worked in schools can relate Gershon it really is sad when the students try and pretend they have written the work when the teacher is fully aware of their capabilities:-( hugs jan xx

Oh I had not see this one, nice limerick, Jan. And I had not realized about the anagram, how fun! I could tell my own stories on the subject....

I'm sure you have had work that you know the student couldn't have produced themselves ... teachers are clever and can spot cheaters!:-) hugs jan xx

You have definitely pressed the point home, Jan! Teachers and cheaters never see eye to eye. I can vouch to that from experience! ~ Wonder what your weather is like....here it's not that cold, but cloudy and drizzly. Hugs // paul

Sadly most tend to live their whole life that way. The internet their modern day sidekick. A nice pair of limericks, which have inspired me, you'll see, hugs... Mick... oh geez, I see this so often with the ESL students, Jan. So sad! And they have to know we only need to google three sentences to find the whole article they took it from.

They fail to realise the teacher knows their capabilities and also can spot a plagerised piece a mile off :-( hugs Jan xx

Sadly Jan they are not doing themselves any favours in the long run and as Robert says they eventually get found out. The internet is great for doing research but to print something off and just put your name on it beggars belief.Life's losers comes to mind. Regards Tom.

Unfortunately Tom you are so right - the teachers are fully aware of the capabilities of the student and sadly this young man go caught cheating and he paid a heavy price as it was for his GCSE and he failed the exam - its a long time back but it always stayed in my memory:-( hugs jan xx
