Teach Me Love

Sun, dripping like syrup
sticks to trees and flesh.
Pastel sky escapes on the seconds
until you're all that's left.
I trace your face with my fingers.
You're yesterday, now, tomorrow.
You linger on each beat of my heart,
you teach me love.
