For the "Tea Time" Poetry Contest of Natasha L Scragg

Because I like variety, I’ve got many different boxes of tea upon my shelf. Sometimes I might mix them up, adding two different bags of tea to seep inside my glass. Some flavors I enjoy consist of these: rose hips, jasmine, hibiscus, cinnamon, apple spice, chamomile, mint blend, and one called Tension Tamer! Its ingredients are peppermint, licorice, and hops (to name a few). “Real” tea contains antioxidants, which means I ought to drink more of those teas than I do. Though green tea is the healthiest, I still prefer unique and naturally sweet herbal teas. They have minerals and other ingredients to make them healthy too. I enjoy a variety of them, with names like “blood red orange.” I add a few of them together, seeping them in boiled water, then flavoring them with honey. Ahhh, to savor nice warm tea.

Joining you in praise for the hot beverage of calm that is blessed with exotic names and aromas. That tea shelf must smell good. J :)

More to a cuppa than I realised. What a wonderful insight into the humble cup of tea. Thanks Andrea I just added a few items to my shopping list. Will be interested to try a few of your favorites. Although I may pass on the peppermint, licorice, and hops, it doesn't sound like "my cup of tea" (pardon the pun). Congrats on your placing in the contest.

oh no, licorice is so yummy. I brought a strong black candy licorice to my ESL students and they did not like it. Yet many people like it because they sell jelly beans now separately in all black, for those who are always picking the black ones out of the bag. haha

I love tea - more than coffee, I believe, although some days I have both. Nice descriptive prose poetry Andrea! :)

I can appreciate what you are saying. I can't handle regular tea because of the caffeine, and I am sorry because green tea is so healthy. I also use herbal teas and now on a fairly regular basis. I haven't tried two bags at once, but is sounds intriguing!

Me too! I like a variety. Lately I’ve had Lady and Earl Grey! I like spiced chai, red hibiscus (hard to find now), Sleepytime tea, and many others! It is nice to get some leaves from the tea shop, too. Thanks for sharing this one!

Cool word "tealicious" I get lazy and don't make tea as often as I should. But it is truly the healthiest of all drinks I take.

Often I use a tall glass that can be toted around, so I carry it to work with me. Rarely do I use a simple cup! Thanks, Paula
