Notes About The Poem

A repost and total reworking of one of my older poems

Taste of Life - Collaboration With Space Cadet

Collaboration by Wesley C and Darren White Eat these grapes with sharp teeth, This dripping pear with leaking juice, This sour, sour lime…bittersweet. The whirlwind mist sends some way; The bird rises golden from itself. See her fiery flight: graceful, anew!— Drink in the steam of life! All cold fingers keep warm As shallow feelings cherish, Feel flames sending tendrils of heat To thaw your cold limbs As winter wilts away. Where deep, deep fear hides away!— Where a Raven of despair lifts off: Say never again. Say it over, never again: Eat with ten feeling fingers, This fruit of fortune given to you. The tantalizing teases: They are drunk with gulped thirst. *** February 19, 2017

I agree with CayCay and Charlie at the same time! Although over my head, very poetically done! And any poem with the Raven in it is a winner for me!

What a poetically, poetic poem! Never wrote that before, but it is my reaction and somehow it fits. Imagery is awesome. These collaborations, Darren - each one a treat for all who read, just 10-finger treats, every one of them! All the best ... CayCay

I can't pretend to understand each verse but I'll defend your right to say them. Nice job guys, I think...

Thank you Charlie, often I don't understand poems of others when I read them, and still like them in a way :)
