silently I sit
although my mind shouts loudly
no one sees how deep
this inner conflict reaches
noiselessly, heart wounds bleed out

yes, the contrast of the screaming mind and the silent heart. Good one, is it for that confessions contest or the tanka one? or neither? Don't you adore tanka!!

Great depth here. "The mind shouts loudly." Yes. No one can fully experience another's secret place. Enjoyed mucho. Love, daver

Dear Faye, It's the wounds inside us that nobody sees. A very well written, heartfelt tanka. Wishing you success in the contest! Love, Carolyn
