Notes About The Poem

I wrote about this incident with a lot more details and posted it a long time ago here at Soup, if anyone is interested in seeing it. Also included in that other poem are the details of my encounter with a somewhat famous singer from the 70's.

Here is the link to my poem: Of Robert Redford, Me, and they Guy Who Sang The Lion Sleeps Tonight:

https://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/of_robert_redford,_me_and_the_guy_who_sang_the_lion_sleeps_tonight_213194

For those who don't happen to know of Redford, here he is from the 70's when he was looking HOT HOT HOT:

Talking Redford

When I called with a message one time,

you would think I"d committed a crime!

Just for doing my job,

I got screamed at by "Rob,"

so for me, Redford's name is now slime.

Sept. 14, 2017 for Kevin Shaw's Name Dropper Limerick Contest

Note: This is based on my one telephone encounter with Robert Redford when I worked for an answering service that served him in Utah. Please see About Poem above for more details!

Andrea...you just can't beat the truth. You can always tell what type of person someone is by how they treat the help. Kinda like going out to eat. How someone treats the wait staff is a good indication of who they really are.

I have heard that some of the stars can be very rude but I guess they get encounters with people, reporters, and those people who report for those sleazy magazines so much that they get hardened to people in general..Thanks for stopping by my blog..Reads like a great contender for the contest..Sara

This is a very clever write, so full of disdain for a well known actor, but deservedly so! I surely loved reading your illustrious poem here this morning, what a gem this one is my friend! Great Work!!

Heh, that's a funny write, Andrea! It's interesting how certain famous faces act like they're above us, whilst others are very down-to-earth. Good luck in the contest. Regards, John.

Ha...like this little write Andrea :) Of course I know who he is, and I can totally see him being arrogant. I still think he is a good actor...but honestly I guess he's not my type.

Some get too self absorbed they take their frustrations out on others.

oh, so not your favourite actor then, ha ha. Yes, I remember how some well known actors (at the theatre where I used to work) could really be rude to people
