Taking the Reins

Valkyrie wings
kiss the air
as my Heroin
takes leave
     of this dismal
and sulfuric atmosphere.
Once again
she has pulled me
to the surface
     (the place I dread)
promising me
        "I don't know"
                 as always,
leaving my brain in Limbo
    (once again)
and my body
to wander my realm
    happenstancely.
But as a frenzy
of emotions
rush in to fill
my emptiness of thought,
raging like
a storm ridden ocean
crashing against
jagged towering cliffs,
I take hold
  of the reins
and head
into the thick of it all,
where my castle once stood.

It's time to rebuild
and nothing's going to stop me.
