Taking Liberty
We took the poor the tired
the huddled masses
we took from countries
their lowered classes
we took religious rejects
heresy suspects and those
that never believed in the divine
armed them with liberty
the hope for all equality
a just and right philosophy
in due time for men to see
a people fo all people to be
we see what explorers did not see
we posses the object of kings greed
a dominion shared by the world
a melting pot for iron occured
such as the world has never heard
and from it's shores freedom rings
echoing no man and every man king
from it's own glory hearts would sing
about it's precious liberty
it's constitution a covenent with the land
a visible between God and man
originally created what it was ment to be
as now evident as men now see
what once was a place for men to flee
still is that place where a vision see's
a hope a place an opportunity
a priceless thing called liberty
