Take the High Road

The lord will fight for me and I will hold my peace
And I will hold my peace and be at rest.
No matter what the critics say the lord knows best
And he will get me through each trial and test.

I will always have difficulties no matter how hard I try
But now that I know the lord no reason to ask why?
No need to avenge myself, no need to vindicate
He’ll be on my case in his own time he’s never too late.

I will take the high road and be a peacemaker
Extending peace to all in a positive way.
If my peace is refused that’ll be their loss
But it will remain with me at any cost.
