Take Me To Nirvana

Nirvana, the enlightenment, Nirvana, the understanding of the true nature of universe, Nirvana, the release from the cycle of rebirth. I am attached to earthly things, I am attached to the bonds of relationships, I experience negative emotions! Take me to Nirvana, O The Omnipotent, O The Fearless, The saviour from all anxieties, allow me to be in a transcendental state in which I will not fear sorrow, or suffering, or Death, The way river meets the ocean, The way gorgeous flowers droop and fall, return to the earth, an incense burns to spread aroma, My desires, my wishes will evaporate…. I will finally be with my Lord. Notes: Nirvana is (in Buddhism) a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. It represents the final goal of Buddhism. September 11, 2022 Theme: Take Me To Nirvana Pick a Title - Vol. 32 Poetry Contest Sponsor: Edward Ibeh

Thank you, Bill. When I looked at the theme, I started inquiring what the word really means. I had some idea about the main concept of Buddhism, but I had to dig deeper, and learned more by writing the poem.
