Take a Closer Look

Pretend not, that the sky is blue And all is well within the world For it is not, the sky is hazed With the injustice of suffering Many children endure nights Never to see the sun of days As they eek out an existence In the shadows of forbearers As food becomes desired So, too, does a thirst for love For they not know love, nor Can they recognize it if had So, pretend not, that the sky is blue Look into the sky, not covering your eyes Witness not only the obvious But recognize the truth behind the light

We do need to remember the unfortunate....it is much too easy to go about our daily lives, and ignore what happens elsewhere. It's only by the Grace of God that we have blessed with shelter and food. Well said, Michael! ~Carrie
