Sweetest Desires
She breathed the air of the young,
But her heart was filled with an ache.
She longed for another world,
Where there were friends and dates.
She reached out to a cold world,
Her insides crying when rejected.
She wanted so much to be included,
But no one on earth would accept her.
She cried herself to sleep at night,
Thinking every minute of all she missed.
She yearned for true faith, hope and love,
But only found feelings of disillusionment.
She wondered if there were others as she,
Caught up in melancholy and tragedy.
She whispered sweet prayers for them all,
Sensing they needed love even more.
She watched as others all found someone,
A heart who would be there for them always.
She sincerely doubted that time would come,
When she would discover happily ever after.
She felt lost and alone in a world too big to hold…
All the feelings she had inside, the hopes, the dreams,
The sweetest desires…
Eleanor Rigby, did your dreams come true?
Were they ever fulfilled for you?
Or did you remain lost and alone?
Forever caught up in a thought…
Of one listening to a sad song?
