Sweet Sweet Emily

I was born in Amhurst Massachuetts
on Decenber 10 1830
and had died May 15 1886

My hair is bold like the chestnut burr
and my eyes like the sherry in the glass
that the guest leaves behind

I cannot write about the world without
first backing away from it and then
comtemplating it from a distance

A word is dead when it is said
Some say I say it just begins
To live that day

Who Am I ?
