Sweet Sleep
Although by necessity, some people utilize me by day,
For most people, I come to comfort and relax them at night.
Whether by night or by day,
In December or the month of May,
Without warning, I will often exit
in late evenings or early mornings.
I might even take wings or flex my sails,
and quietly vanish without tell or trail.
But dear one, always remember this:
I will often depart just for a spell.
And also remember this:
You must prepare and anticipate my return.
Be calm; Be poised; Wait and be still. You see,
I take no pleasure in frequent or occasional exits.
I shall return because I was made by God for you.
