Sweet Pleasures
I love the feel of silk on my skin
Nearly as much as the sunlight
Softly filling the morning with its
Lustrous and graceful stream
I love the feel of a new page
When I begin a book, I’m amazed
At the whisper of paper on paper
Leaving me breathless with vision
I love the feel of Sunday morning
Going to the pew at my local church
Listening to the hymns and God’s word
Feeling so full of love and compassion
I love the feel of rose’s sweet petals
So soft and gentle, like a welcome
From someone who knows you so well
And is willing to go the distance assured
I love the feel of a kind word of praise
A compliment that assures of grace
That is a light shining against my face
Preparing me for the coming day
I love the feel of sand between my toes
And the gentle roar of the ocean’s wave
Ever so lightly moving against my ankle
Touching me with a pleasant sensation
I love the feel of joy that comes to me
When I share my heart with a true friend
It leaves me feeling like I’m able to breathe
Freer than I would have without them there
I love the feel of sweet pleasures that admire
All I have to offer; hope, faith and love
Feelings that come from God’s heavenly light
Reminding me why I am here, alive on earth
