Sweet Morning Rain

Verse One
She left me on one summer's morn
as the rain was falling from an early storm,
and I still feel the love in her still calling.
So, now I search through a fading light
of clouded dreams just to hold her tight,
and I can feel the tears from her still falling...
like sweet morning rain.

    Verse Two
Turning back a page in time,
I see her smile so warm and kind,
and I can see the child in her so dearly.
And though we are so far apart,
I hear her voice as it melts my heart,
whispering her love to me so clearly...
like sweet morning rain.

    Verse Three
Another page and it draws her near
with tender whispers in my ear,
telling me she yearns for us so deeply.
And though my love has gone away,
I reach to touch her every day,
a touch that takes my breath away completely...
like sweet morning rain.

     Bridge
Tears I've hidden since we've been apart
keep running down this broken heart...like rain,
     like sweet morning rain.

    Verse Four
I end this song with a love so dear
in hopes I've shed my final tear,
eternal love will be its closing beauty.
Her earthly image fades in time
though angel tears that once were mine
keep falling down to kiss my heart so sweetly...
like sweet morning rain.
