SWEET MERCY

For Timothy Lee
A plea for your sweet mercy I now speak. You surely see my consorts are shadows, grown longer still as my sadness fades bleak. All my streamed love gifts altered as fallow. I will not share my gloom and misery. If together my gray would fade your skies and seize your heart made dreamy fantasy. I would not want destruction in your eyes. I have no shelter from my painful storm though sorely I seek such as I do long to rest my entirety inside a norm since sorrow hallowed my hope once held strong. Constant aches hold me, I nurse hurt and bleed, so how as coupled could love dreams succeed?

These sonnets are so special CayCay. You have opened a vein in your first poem written with such depth of inner searching. Your second poem is so exquisitely written sharing the birth of love in all its joy. I love both of these CayCay. 7 ; )

With the amount of N/A's I have had recently CayCay I am just grateful if my poem gets a few reads and comments before it disappears off the recent poems list lol - a win is a bonus:-)

:) Lovely, dear. I love sonnets! The first one spoke more to me. "I lack the strength to bring you along"....has me thinking. Love is such a delicate intricate thing. I also loved the ending couplet of the second one. Good luck in the contest, dear. Hugs from a true fan. ;)

Well done, CayCay. I have been thinking about this one. I think the first sonnet would come fairly easy but then the second for me would be a stretch. Yours should do very well! Good luck!

Thanks, Daniel - let your muse marinate on the topic, anything could happen. Mine is true - the tale of me and my love, Tim, who I waited a lifetime to be with. I had given up - so DON'T give up, you ... CayCay
