Sweet Lilac Breeze
Sweet Lilac Breeze
Lavender lilacs in full bloom today
budded in April now blooming in May
They bloom every spring when most things renew
I'm always thrilled with their yearly debut
A splendid perfume that lilac filled air
I brought some inside to place by my chair
Light breezes float in their soft scent at night
It helps me dream sweetly til morning light
The bees can't resist those blossoms so sweet
Then flying home drunk on that pollen treat
A bird built her nest and made it her home
Not far from that branch did she ever roam
Her babies were raised in those lilac trees
Surrounded by blooms and sweet lilac breeze.
