Notes About The Poem

Sweet

Insidiously smooth, I fox your world,
Your home, your work, your car,
As I infiltrate all you will become,
Becoming everything you think you are,

And there’s no way you can stop me,
Stop me from fulfilling you,
There’s nothing you can make or plan,
There’s nothing you can do,

Because I’m in the food you eat each day,
I live in the drinks you buy,
I’m happily in packed meat and veg,
And I happily help you die,

Each time your insulin converts me,
Making you my habitat,
Converting you to a diabetic farm,
I’m the sugar that makes you fat.
