Notes About The Poem

Swap and Shop

Swap... and Shop!

"Stop", I say,
it is today,
the best place,
to spend time,
especially so,
if you only have
a dime.

This and that,
some of those,
and two toes.
A quilt,
a basket,
and a candle shoe.
Tools, and oddities,
to entertain,
just a few.

A milk man's bucket,
a lawyers book,
everything you might
think of, come...
and have a look!

Colors of the rainbow,
fruits...and vegetables too.
Open market,
smell the moo!

People from all over,
to share the air-e,
of money made and earned.
of good deals,
and even a few steals.

Bring a smile,
stay awhile,
always welcome here,
having too much fun,
is all you need to fear.

If that's what I have to fear -- having too much fun -- then I'm definitely out of here! ~ P.P. (Party Pooper) lol. Good one, Anne!

A delightful write, Ann! I like the upbeat feeling and the staccato lines. Blessings, Kim M
