SWAN

I am the swan with a broken wing — Not knowing where my old flock has gone. I drift now amidst embracing lilies, who Have long and dearly kept my pleas for close company… Thus, whenever hunters near, The lilies ask along with me, If Angels still come To wipe away Tears of tragedy? Just my opinion, for what little it may be worth. But I believe God sheds every tear with us...shares every ache and heartbreak. As to why bad things happen? -- no simple answer...Faith in His love sometimes, all that I have to lean on. Not blind faith, though~ for I have seen miracles of healing in the lives of others, praying a miracle in your life. Blessings my friend. Great, evocative writing. One suffers, at times, for the sake of Art alone -- blessing others with hard-earned enlightenment.

I really love the flow of this short but evocative and soulful poem, and the ending with " tears of tragedy" really hits deep! A fave for sure for me! Oh, thank you! And, yes, Empress, i definitely believe in angels. Have researched them. When things get tough here, i pray & ask that angels be sent to be by us right in this room.Have had from 1 to maybe 5 patiently near on several occasions& very grateful for that. God bless you profoundly & continue to inspire your poetry. Pray for world’s children to be & feel secure.

Oh my, I believe that angels are still very close to the hearts of those whose souls reflect purity, although they may appear invisible most of the times! I felt the profound ache pulsating through your words and the way you've used symbolism here just is so very touching. The imagery of lilies and swan, ah, immensely soulful, dear Sally. The emotions are very tragic and melancholic here, yet the way you've weaved them is beyond impressive. Sending you best wishes and light, always!

I'm glad that Angels stand by Lillies and Lillies embrace any drfting swan, protecting them from hunters, just as there are a minority of human beings who do help the ones in tears, the needy and the homeless. The unfortunate will sadly increase within the near future, the general sentiment, no-one cares enough any longer. Lovely poem written with compassion and thought Sally. Hugs, blessings, Jennifer.

Amen, Jennifer! I presented & wrote this as a poem filled with possible metaphorical interpretations, from me personally…even to people worldwide amidst the furthering of harm to the needing as being created by pres. Trumusk — a potential world tragedy in the making? And yes, earthly angels must step up to help heaven’s. Thank you for reading & commenting! hugs for you! sally

Sally, thanks for your comment today...I really appreciate that it got me here to read your work. There are so many hurting in this world, and many feel abandoned. In fact many are abandoned. This poem is a reflection of that fact and the cold hard truth of a world moving the wrong direction for many ordinary people. Not the same for billionaires who have empty hearts and no idea of what is about to happen.

Hey, Duke! Thanks for coming to read this. & for the truth of your comment. The world situation is actually becoming PHYSICALLY AFFECTING for me! I have sent $ to Dr. Without Borders & $ for clean water efforts in Africa for yrs.I fear the elimination of many worldwise so pres. Trumusk can make way to become 1st world Emperor. Sending you love always, Sally
