Surrendering To Eternity
I have reached the peak
where life finally ends:
looking below the steep
cliff of perennial misery;
enflamed cities, Ukrainians
escaping the rod of tyranny...
civilians picking up arms
to fend off powerful Russians!
What shocks me is
the pursuit of fervent
and profound faith:
believing in fighting back,
detesting the bastard
who causes wrath;
should I go unnoticed
in the realm of peacefulness...
surrendering to eternity
with a panting breath
and leave behind
millions of grieving souls?
Can the madness
of a leader dishonor
his sterling silver flag,
denying the humanness
in himself and not stop the doleful weeping
of a people who are forced into fleeing?
He strikes and kills with the ferocity of a czar!
Putin has declared Himself god...
will the Black Sea turn red?
Does he have compassion
or empathy for anybody
who's hardly breathing?
Is it worth shedding
young Russian blood
on a foreign country?
What's the harshest punishment
for a cruel dictator if not death?
I may sound cruel for my intent:
think of the thousands of lives being spared...
if the ongoing war was suddenly halted,
and Ukraine repossessed its wealth?
Even an atheist whispers prayers
and condemns his atrocious actions;
I doubt if he will end his madness,
and Ukrainians will return to their ghost land!
